ANTI STAIN TREATMENT

AST processing ensures the quality of your timber while storing or transporting, protecting it from blue fungi and mould infection. We are treating timber cargoes intended for further shipping with both ships and containers.

The processing is done at our facility in Port Constanta Sud Agigea using immersion baths that is the world’s most common method of treating timber with this type of chemicals. We are processing  all around the year.

Air Dry (AD)

Standard Timber is mainly dealing in Fresh Cut timber and Air Dried, with a humidity varying between 20%-30%. Our timber comes from selected sawmills, insuring the timber quality and clear measurements. Our suppliers are spread all over the territory of Romania, being selected for their expertize and dedication for sustainable forestry.

KILN DRY (KD)

Standard Timber can provide Kiln-Dry timber with humidity levels between 10% up to 18%. The specialised kilns are of the latest technology and can heat dry the timber upon our clients demend.

THERMO-TREATED WOOD

Thermo-treated wood (also known as Thermally modified wood or Thermowood) is a material produced after the treatment of wood at high temperature (180º – 220º C) in a special thermo camera.

Thermo-treated wood material is completely natural because no chemicals are used in the process, only temperature and pressure, but shows very good resistance to fungi and rot. 

After the treatment Thermowood gets very valuable properties:

  • Stability – significantly decreases expansion or shrinkage of the material due to the influence of the external environment.

  • Resistance to decay causing fungi.

  • Thermal conductivity is reduced which means that thermowood does not heat up or cool down in different conditions as untreated wood and is a good material for thermal insulation.

  • Thermowood can be used indoors or outdoors, in all climatic conditions.
