1. Who we are

Standard Timber Distribution SRL (“Standard Timber”, “we”) is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Registered office: Str. 2. What data we process and why

Enquiries. When you write to us through the contact form on this website, by e-mail, by phone or on WhatsApp, we process your name, company, e-mail address, phone number and the content of your message, in order to answer you and to prepare an offer. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.

Contracts and shipments. If you buy from us, we process the identification and contact details of your representatives and the data in the commercial and shipping documents, in order to perform the contract and to comply with tax, accounting, customs and export obligations.

Offers on WhatsApp. We send offers and product photographs or videos on WhatsApp only to contacts who gave us their number and agreed to receive them. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying STOP. Messages may be translated automatically (Romanian, English, Arabic) so that we can reply in your language.

Website use. The website records technical data such as IP address, browser and device type and pages visited, through cookies and similar technologies, as described in section 3.

3. Cookies

This website runs on the Wix platform. Essential cookies, needed for security and for the site to work, are always active. Analytics, functional and marketing cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time from the banner settings or by deleting cookies in your browser.

4. Who receives the data

We use service providers that process data on our behalf: Wix.com Ltd. (website hosting and contact form), Meta Platforms (WhatsApp), providers of message-routing and machine-translation services, and e-mail, IT, invoicing and accounting providers. Where a shipment requires it, data is also shared with banks, carriers, freight forwarders, inspection companies and public authorities. We do not sell personal data.

5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of these providers may process data outside the EEA. Such transfers rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep the data

Enquiries that do not lead to a contract: up to three years from the last contact. Contract, shipping and accounting records: for the period required by tax and accounting law. Marketing contacts: until you withdraw your consent.

7. Your rights and how to use them

You have the right to access, rectify or erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, write to accounts@standardtimber.ro with the subject “Privacy request”, or by post to our registered office. We may ask for information needed to confirm your identity. We answer within one month; for complex requests this may be extended by two further months, and we will tell you if so. Requests are free of charge. You may also lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro), or with the authority of your country of residence.

8. Security

Access to personal data is limited to the staff and providers who need it for the purposes above, and we apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version and its date are always published on this page.
